On February 11th, Commissioner R Rich, officially retired #28 from future QLSA Allstar Games and the upcoming 2011 Allstar Game will be dedicated to the memory of Charlie Martinez. Also, each Allstar jersey and Coaches shirt will bear a circular patch with #28. In addition, to perpetuate his name, from this point forward, a special award named "The Charles Martinez Memorial Award" has been incorporated into the QLSA annual awards, it will be awarded to the Manager who best exemplifies sportsmanship & winning spirit...and the loops umpires will wear new hats for the 2011 season bearing the #28 on them.
